Lagos hosts first Hack/Hackers training

The technology center at Yaba in Lagos State, Civic Hub, on Saturday recorded history has the first Hack/Hackers training was held with impressive tech ideas.

The inaugural Hack/Hackers meeting featured Journos, techies and coders. Among the interesting projects in the house was one from Ademola Oduguwa, who is inventing a device to measure Air quality in Nigeria, starting with Lagos. According to Jacopo Ottaviani‏ representing Code for Africa, Ademola is currently working with a team from two European countries.

Ademola explained to the audience how is explaining how the self made and solar-powered air sensors can monitor air quality in Lagos. You can't wait to see him launch this project, perhaps the life expectancy in Nigeria will get better gradually.

Jacopo Ottaviani‏, at the back, to introduce Naija Data Ladies

Furthermore, a new initiative of the Code for Africa called Naija Data Ladies was introduced. It is an initiative aimed at encouraging more Nigerian ladies to become lovers and analyzers of data.

The event was organised by Code for Africa, parent body for Code for Nigeria, with support from the International Center for Journalism (ICFJ), a non-profit, professional organization located in Washington, D.C., United States, and founded by Jim Ewing, Tom Winship and George Krimsky
